Evolution

By R&D Team

Breeding technology is the constantly evolving new ideas and practices which enhance the field of seeds breeding. We combine the proficiency, experience and creativity of our scientists with highly advanced techniques such as cell biology, gene mapping and marker‐assisted breeding

The proper trialling and selection of seed varieties is key to the success of any seed company, Company focus is on the research work relevant to fields in seed testing, quality assurance and seed quality enhancement is at par excellence. As well as the focus on basic research relevant to floral biology, pollination and seed development to attain better seed recovery.

For Farmer

The breeder team has developed and collected a very large of germplasm from local old and new varieties, wild species, land races, modern cultivars as well as various indigenous and exotic agriculture institutes, after that breeder choose elite germplasm from developed and collected germplasm bank, after our well trained breeder team use best innovation as well as modern science for crop breeding and that release new varieties in the market for farmer.

For World

The breeder produce improved varieties through innovation that sustain and potentially increase yields and are better adapted to withstand disease and the effects of climate change, as well as supporting sustainable agriculture and food security. company are dedicated to contributing to environmentally‐ friendly agriculture as well as developing new seeds varieties to secure a healthy world for future generations.

Quality Assurance

Seed Germination

Seed testing is a very specialized and technical task because the Seed Testing Laboratory is the focus of seed quality control and certification. Seed testing determines the quality of seed flour such as physical purity, moisture, germination capacity and periodically the seeds are tested in our modern laboratory to obtain information about the cultivation value of seed flour so that farmers get quality seeds.

Seed Health

"Maintaining seed quality is the first step for us to increase global productivity as well as for farmers' prosperity". The health of the seeds is given sufficient attention by our team because the health of the seeds means that they should be free from insect damage and infestation by any microorganisms such as germs and fungi. Seeds with good germination ability and seed germination are considered as quality seeds.

Physical Purity of Seeds

It refers to the cleanliness of the seed. To keep the seeds pure and uniform, the seeds are cleaned by a sortex cleaner machine, so that they are free from inert substances such as dust, stones, other crop seeds, broken seeds, weeds, etc.

Seed Genetic Purity

Genetic purity of a seed means that it ensures the quality of the seed so that the traditional and inherent characteristics of the seed must be maintained from generation to generation for that we continue to perform genetic purification experiments in research&development farms as well as on the laboratory.

Moisture Content of the Seeds

Moisture is the most important parameter of the seed, which affects the quality and storage life of the seed. Higher and lower humidity than required for a seed soon weakens its germination enthusiasm and viability. Therefore, proper moisture content of the seed is maintained by the equipment required to ensure good germination capacity and viability.

Seed Vigour

Seed vigour is the sum total of all the seed attributes that performance potential of the seed establishment in varying environment is known as seed vigour, Vigorous seeds usually provide higher yield in comparison to less vigorous seeds. Vigorous seed lots store well for longer period without appreciable loss in the germination in comparison to the less vigorous seeds which deteriorate at a faster rate.

Seed viability

Seeds that are able to germinate under the appropriate conditions of moisture, temperature, light, etc. are called "viable seeds". A chemical test used to determine the viability of a seed, it is a tetrazolium chloride test, with results usually available within 24 to 48 hours. The viability of seed attachment is a measure of how many seeds are alive and can develop in plants that will reproduce themselves upon seeing the right conditions.

Generation system of seed multiplication

Farmson Biotech focuses on the production of various F1 hybrid and open pollinated vegetable seeds, as well as oil seeds, pulses, spices and fodder seeds.

The popularity of F1 hybrid seeds is due to their enthusiasm, uniformity, immunity, stress tolerance and long shelf life as well as consistently stable yields. F1 hybrid seed production can be divided into two types, such as hand‐pollinating and gene‐control pollinating.

The breeder Seed are the most important input for sustainable agricultural production from multiplication to the distribution chain. The production of a specific class of seeds from a breeder class of seeds to a standardized seed stage is called seed multiplication. Beginning with seeds variety development in which is multiplied by the nucleus seed to the breeding seed, by the breeding seed to the foundation seed and by the foundation seed to the certified seed into the production system.

We doing the multiplication of seeds on company's farm as well as we offer seed multiplication agreements to selected farmers in the appropriate areas for a specific crop as determined by the contract. They are the first link in our production process to provide the highest quality seeds to our global customers and specialize in the production of each specific seed crop, we have a contractual base farm in different climatologic zones in India for multiplication of different types of seeds.

Seed multiplication production sector operations

We have a team of crop experts who can support our farmer by providing technical advice on all stage of seed multiplication, such as:

Selection of fertile soil,
Field preparation
seed Sowing stage
Proper irrigation processes
Maintain isolation distance
Weed Management
Pest and Disease Management
Rouging in following stage

(A) Pre flowering stage (B) flowering stage (C) maturity stage

The bagging technique
Harvest stage

Sequence of operation in seed processing and storage

Seeds that coming from the field after harvest usually contain unwanted material such as stems, leaves and bark, stones and soil particles, weed seeds and unwanted seeds. Which are discarded during processing to getting desired seed as well as Quality testing is done before the seeds are stored or packaged and then distributed to the farmers for planting.

The order of operation of the seed process depends on the characteristics of the seeds such as shape, size, weight, length, surface texture, colour and moisture content. Because each crop seed has a seed composition individually. Therefore, attention is paid to the different stages of the seed processing such as threshing, drying, Pre‐cleaning, Conditioning, cleaning, Separating or Upgrading, quality testing, treating, weighting, bagging, labelling and sending for storage or packing.

Seeds treatment before packing & storage

The seeds are treated with proper treatment of pesticides or fungicides or both, to protect them from pest and disease invasion at the stage of storage and at the planting stage, which is applied as seed dressing or seed coating or seed pelting. The main purpose of seed treatment is to protect by pest attacks during seed storage, to protect the seeds and plant from attack by soil pests, to control the spread of fungi in the plant trunks as well as to high germination and healthy crop yield.

Farmson to Farm

Packaging

It is important to package the seeds in dry containers to ensure proper storage and quality of seeds. Seed packaging is done in standard‐sized company's printed plastic bags, jute bags, cotton bags, box and tin cans orjars. For subsequent identification, each package of seeds is labelled which that the required details related to the seeds are displayed. like, details of the company, label no. seed class, net weight, lot number, date of testing, date of packing, date of expiry, germination(min), pure seed (min),moisture(max)genetic purity(min) as well as warning of poisoning if the seed is treated chemically.

Distribution & Marketing

The packaged seeds are sent from company's store to distributors, traders or direct farmers for distribution in the open market, where the seed journey starting from seed planting to commercial production. Clearly, distribution is a key area of marketing and is an important part of meeting global needs and requirements. So that the company maintains complete understanding of its customers from order administration to sales, inventory control, dispatch and transport.
